ports

i miss the taste of food. replaced by supplements. hydration comes in bags of saline, pushed through the ports in our chest. i watch it flow into me, clear and steady, as if i'm being filled with light instead of liquid. until the next supply drop, our records show a little more than four hundred days left of food. i use that term loosely. food. whatever's in those capsules stopped being food a long time ago.
